HOW TO BECOME A DDCA MEMBER
Yearly membership runs from the Fall Membership meeting to the next Fall Membership meeting. Dues are collected year-round. Full membership benefits are given to those registering prior to the Fall Membership deadline. These include: new manual for first-year members, membership card, minutes and mailings, membership directory and manual updates for the previous year. Members registering late will be added to the mailing list and receive future mailings. Five types of membership are offered: Coach, Associate, Business, Judge and Student. Complimentary memberships are offered to the board of directors and Ex Officio members of the board.

RECOGNITION AWARDS
The DDCA has a recognition program that includes Coach of the Year, Service Awards and a Lifetime Achievement Award. The nomination process is the same for all three awards: the membership submits names of those individuals that deserve the appropriate recognition. Coach of the Year and Lifetime Achievement nominations are taken in December, forms are e-mailed to the membership.

Coach of the Year nominees are then voted on by the membership at the Winter meeting in January; Lifetime Achievement nominees are sent to an appointed committee for the selection process. Nomination forms for Service Awards are passed out at the Winter meeting and are due the second week of February, nominees are then sent to an appointed committee for the selection process. All award recipients are then recognized at the State Championships in March.
